For example, Rouen nightlife appears to have become very puritanical: A bunch of pressmen looking for some suitably scandalous goings-on after the day's work was done, in company with some of their NCL hosts, were mortified to find themselves in a small dark "might club " where, apart from a few nudes painted on the walls, nothing, but nothing, went on—or off !

It appears that the French Minister of Justice is the local MP and the place has been cleaned up. Some NCL members of the party spoke nostalgically of a Manchester club where things were much more lively.
