Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A COMBINED sea and land roll on roll off service offering through rates from Felixstowe and Rotterdam to inland destinations in the Middle East will be launched by Seaspeed Ferries on July 15.

The service, known as the "Middle East Highway," will call at Beirut in Lebanon and at Lattakia/Tartous in Syria with a sailing every 22 days. From these ports trailers will be hauled by road to virtually any destination in the Middle East.

For the road transportation part of the operation Seaspeed Ferries have formed an asso ciation with Socotrans, their Middle East clearance agents, and with the El Hoss organisation. Seaspeed claim that the service will help many hauliers to conserve their EEC permit quotas.

It is expected that roughly 50 per cent of the traffic will be trailers (the service can take sixty 40ft trailers) and the rest be made up of plant and machinery. Seaspeed have established new offices at Felixstowe to deal with the service. The address is 9A Routemaster Building, Walton Avenue, Felixstowe, Suffolk.
