A69 CARLISLE
• A major resurfacing scheme is under way on the A69 trunk road from Carlisle city boundary to the east of Rosehill House. Work is expected to last another three weeks and delays are expected.
B RIDGING THE GAP MI Maximum fines for overheight vehicles ignoring low bridge signs have been increased to 2400, plus automatic licence endorsement with three penalty points and possible disqualification.
Local authorities no longer need a traffic order to install the sign on a structure which imposes a physical height limit.
