• The programme to fit 400 London Buses Routemasters with £3 million worth of foreign engines should be completed within two years of deciding on a source of supply. It is expected that two types will be used, from either India, Poland, the US or Italy.
Vanguard purchase
• Bedworth-based Vanguard Coaches has bought Pattersons Travel Services of Coventry. Vanguard will run its acquisition under the existing name until it replaces its four Bedford 53seaters early this year. All of Pattersons' contracts and one of its drivers are included in the transfer.
