• A new international haulage firm has been set up by a husband and wife team in Sutton Ashfield, near Nottingham.
Mark and Vicky Scholey formed the haulage operation, Portotex International, after buying two 38-tonners with financial help from their local Leyland Daf dealer.
Mark Scholey's brother Paul and friend Brian Longmoor gave up engineering jobs after gaining HGV licences and now drive for the company. Operations began last month; the firm has appointed an overseas agent and plans to buy another vehicle by March.
