• Marquiss of Scotland, the Dtunfriesshire-based recovery vehicle manufacturer, is up for sale.
The 20-year-old company is also inviting bids for its site, due to uncertainty about the final route of the proposed motorway to replace the A74, says owner Reg ForesterSmith. "At the moment, we are just testing the water."
The family business, which produces up to 10 vehicles a month, is about to add six new staff to its 24-strong workforce, and predicts a turnover of over £2 million for this current financial year.
Offers are being sought in excess of 2800,000 for the business and £40,000 a year for leasing the property.
