• The market for commercial vehicles between 1.8 tonnes and 3.5 tonnes saw some dramatic changes in fortune last year with Ford boosting its registrations of the Transit by over 20%, while Fiat, Mitsubishi and Nissan sales all fell by more than 20%. Overall, this sector grew by just over 6%, and Ford's domination continued unabated. The Transit had a 47.5% share.

Only Leyland Daf managed to retain a double. figuremarket share against this scale of success. In 1989, the 200 and
