Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RAISING the gross weight of drawbar combinations to 38 tonnes in line with articulated lorries is to be investigated in a study by the Polytechnic of Central London's "Fransport Studies Group with funding from the Government's Science and Engineering Research Council.

'[he Study will be undertaken by the h' :t. unit which has recently looked at the effect of lorry bans and the role 01 demountable bodies.

According to Melvin Peters, research officer for the new study, it will look at the value of harmonising gross vehicle weights of all heavy goods vehicles in the UK, with particular emphasis on lilting the limits for drawbars.

Peters says that the work has been stimulated by comments made by operators in

terviewed in previous P studies. Sonic said drawF are not only used for h cubic volume traffic, and extra load capability would valuable.
