GARDNER has produced its first ever intercooled diesel engine, the 6LYTi.
It is on display at the Internatiomil Boat Show, on stand UA I. until lanuary 12.
Intercooling was introduced initially for 11131111C use where there is a requirement for higher power at low revs.
The 15.5-litre 6LYTi,
prOdui'lllg up to 2 6 4 k W (355hp). lias the highest power-to-weight ratio of any Gardner engine, and has capacity for inure development.
But for automotive use, Gardner already offers up to 26 1 k W (351 thp) without intercooling, and it says it has no immediate plans to offer the intercooled engine.
