ROBERT HEATON, managing director of Heaton's Transport (St Helens), has been appointed chairman of the Surface Transport Committee of Merseyside Chainher of Commerce and Industry. He succeeds Bob Crossley, managing director of William Harper and Sons, Liverpool, a subsidiary of Transport Development Group.
Heaton is a member of the Executive Board of the Road Haulage Association and was at one time chairman of its North Western I)istrict.
