MR. A. W. NEWRERY has been elected a director of the Airserew Co. and Jicwood. Ltd.
MR. A. G. EVERSHED, Commercial officer, has been appointed a chief officer of the London Transport Executive. His title is commercial manager.
• MR. A. C. DURIE has succeeded MR. A. L. KING as general manager (administration) of She11-Mex and B.P., Ltd. Mr. King will become general manager (sales) when MR. A. M. MACKINTOSH retires at the end of March.
MR. W. E. DODSWORTH, who recently resigned his position as director and joint general manager of Weymanns. Ltd., also his directorship of Metropolitan-Cammell-Weymann, Ltd., has joined Park Royal Vehicles. Ltd., as works manager.
MR. J. D. PEARSON has succeeded LORD HEVES as chief executive of Rolls-Royce, Ltd. Mr. Pearson and MR. WHITNEY STRAIGHT have become deputy chairmen, and LORD KINDERSLEY has taken aver from Lord Hives as chairman.
Ma. D. A. C. DEWDNEY, manager of the co-ordination and economics department of the Esso Petroleum Co., Ltd., has been appointed a director. MR. J. L. N. POLLOCK, who has completed 37 years' service and has been a director since 1938, has retired.
S1R PATRICK HENNESSY, while remaining chairman of the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., has relinquished his managing directorship, which position has been assumed by MR. C. THACKER. Mr. -Thacker joined Ford in 1924 and joined the board in 1953, becoming an assistant managing director later that year.
MR. C. M. VIGNOLES (chairman), M. H. H. BATES (managing director), MR. C. T. BauNNF.a. and MR. I. H. Buscoram. now comprise the board of the National Benzole Co.. Ltd. The board has been changed as a result of the offer of Shell-Mex and B.P., Ltd.. for the motor fuel and lubricants trade of the National Benzoic Co.. Ltd.
c2 MR. A. E. BONFIELD has become general manager of Strachans Successors, Ltd. He has been previously connected with the Leyland, Weymann's and Park Royal companies.
Ma. F. W. LANGLEY, district manager at the Greenwich depot of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., has succeeded the late MR. H. J. Hcaams as sales manager of the south region. Ma. C. W. FODEN replaces him at Greenwich.
MR. ALEX FRASER, vice-chairman and managing director of Girling, Ltd„ and MR. J. W. KINCHIN, director and chief engineer, are due to leave today for the U.S.A. to meet the executives of the Eawick Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio.
MR. SYDNEY S. Guy, chairman and managing director of Guy Motors, Ltd., and Col— A. JERRETT, sales director, sailed for South Africa this week to visit the Capetown, Durban and Johannesburg branches of Guy Motors Africa (Pty.). Ltd., and the sites for the erection of premises in Bulawayo and Salisbury, Rhodesia.

WEregret to record the death of MR. JOHN SANDERSON. Mr. Sanderson was the founder of a Loftus, Yorks, haulage firm, and afounder-member of the Tees-side subarea of the Road Haulage Association.
MR. D. D. N. GRAHAM has been appointed assistant to the traffic manager of the Northern General Transport Co., Ltd.
MR. R. H. CLARK, formerly district manager of the Power Petroleum Co., Ltd., has succeeded MR. J. H. BALFOUR, who has retired. as Scottish branch manager.
MR, ALFRED LUCAS has retired from his position as exhibition manager of the Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd. He had designed 500 exhibition stands since his appointment in 1946.
MR, FRANK S. BRIMELOW, deputy general manager of Middlesbrough Transport Department, has been appointed general manager of Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley and Dukinfield Transport Board, and will assume the position on February 1.
MR. J. H. BaBarma, public relations adviser to the British Transport Commission, has been re-elected president of the Public Service Vehicle Advertising Committee. Miss M. S. WENMOTH has been appointed chairman, and MR. V. E. SCCirr BAILEY vice-chairman.
MR. E. D. NORTON, managing director of Stratstone, Ltd., has retired after 34 years' service, having been responsible for the past eight years for the development and marketing of the Essex vehicle washer. Aged 68, he is an associate member of the International Union of Public Transport.
