With all, the jostling for position by trailer firms, you could be forgiven for thinking there are only a few trailer-makers left in the UK. Not so, as CM discovers.

When you're having to face up to a plunging market, an ultraCO M P FT I TlVf landscape and the worst recession in living memory, anybody looking to stay alive in this industry is looking for the mother of all inventions.
In these challenging conditions, the true innovators are always experimenting with new ideas, designs and processes to ensure they are ahead of the game, and carving out their own niche. So where's the result of all this listening and customer focus?
In the case of W Trailer, it takes the form of CurtainClear, a new patented design that allows the curtains of a trailer to be drawn right round to the rear of a trailer, completely clearing the side for loading access and visibility.
"Everyone is looking for the nth degree of efficiency in loading and unloading trailers," Wilson reveals, explaining the thinking behind CurtainClear. "And for a quick turnaround, you need unhindered access to the length of the trailer, "In addition, with many of the pallet hubs and RDCs now depedestrianised, nobody wants drivers jumping out among the forklifts pulling curtains back and forth. And then you have the bagging up of curtains at the front or rear of the trailer, which can hamper visibility."
Not surprisingly, CurtainClear addresses these issues, delivering a solution that simultaneously ticks the boxes of health and safety and utilisation.
