• Thornaby-on-Tees plant hire and haulage contractor Soon Bros has invested £850,000 in new depot facilities and 10 Seddon Atkinson six and eightwheeled tippers.
All are Cummins-powered: the five 6x4s feature the 280hp (209kW) C-Series, while the 32tonners have the 305hp (22/kW) M11 engine. They all drive through Eaton nine-speed synchro boxes and Mentor drive axles. The Seddons were supplied by North East Truck & Van; Dependable Bodies fitted the steel tipping bodies and Harsh looked after the underfloor hydraulics.
