Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• by GoIM Barnett As promised at the launch (CM 12-18 November 1998), Vauxhall has expanded the appeal of the Movano with a range of officially approved body conversions.

Luton and box vans, dropsides and a tipper are now available, all converted by well-known bodybuilders.

The conversions can be ordered through any of Vauxhall's 200-strong network of specialist van dealers. The intention is to have chassis-cabs held in stock by each bodybuilder ready for prompt completion, with most vehicles being available within two weeks from ordering. All the conversions are rated at 3.5tonnes GVW and, apart from the medium-wheelbase tipper, are offered in a choice of long (4.08m) or medium (3.58m) wheelbases. The BOhp (60kW) 2.5-litre diesel or the 115hp (86kW) 2.8litre turbo-diesel engine can be chosen.

As well as the conversions detailed here, CMhas taken a look at a late development version of the forthcoming service van conversion which will be supplied as a fully racked ready-to-go mobile workshop. Vauxhall expects to fingse the full specification of the Bott-supplied racking system during March.

Luton vans

Three Luton van designs are available. Top of the range is the moulded GRP Aero version with its aerodynamic Luton box.

The Aero body is manufactured by Anglian. The other two examples are flat-fronted models from Hawson Garner, featuring either aluminium or GRP construction.

Roller-shutter rear doors are fitted to all versions. The Anglian body has an integral lock, while the others have hasp and staple fittings.

Box vans

Hawson Garner is also responsible for the two box-vans, again made from either aluminium or GRP. Door arrangements are the same as on its Lutons.

Oropsides

Ingemex is the maker of the aluminium dropside bodies. They have quick-release over-centre

latches and removable bodysides and cornerpests. Phenolic resin ply is used for the floor and a lightweight ladder frame is fitted to the front.

Tippers

The steel bodied tipper conversion is handled by Link Tip. The body is raised by a 12V electro-hydraulic power pack controlled by a dashboard switch with a "body raised" warning light. A single cylinder ram with cantilever bracing lifts the body through 450.
