Gusts of up to TOmph in the north of England overturned more than a dozen lorries last week, forcing police to shut off roads including a 30-mile section of the busy ARM) near Scotch Corner. According to police in the region, gale-force winds knocked over five HGVs on the A1(61), one on the Al near Stannington in Northumberland, two in Cumbria on the M6, and three in Cleveland.
