• Scania's newest distributor, Southway Commercials of Portsmouth has delivered its first truck to Southern Bulk Traffic Services of Alton, Hampshire.
The truck is a Scania P112MA 4 x 2 RS-driven by a 228kW engine and a 10-speed GR871 range change gearbox and is fitted with a sleeper cab. Southern Bulk is using the tractive unit to pull a tri-axle tipping trailer with air suspension, carrying animal feedstuffs, construction materials and fuel products.
Southern Bulk managing director Mike Thomas runs a fleet of 20 trucks and this unit is the first Scania he has taken on. "We shall be monitoring and evaluating its performance very closely," he says.
