Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LAST YEAR's growth of the commercial vehicle market was sustained last month, with the over-3.5 tonne sector leading the leap over 1983's figures.

There was an overall rise of 3.33 per cent in sales from 22,562 to 23,314, but the over-3.5 tonne sector did better with a leap of 10.31 per cent from 3,696 to 4,077. Light commercial sales rose by 2.37 per cent from 18,549 to 18,988.

ing from the aftermath of last autumn's promotions, and the Cargo took only 13.3 per cent (1983: 19.2 per cent) of over-3.5 tonne sales, falling to second place behind Leyland's 13.6 per cent (1983: 14.9 per cent).

Bedford was in third place with 13.1 per cent (1983: 8.9 per cent), Mercedes-Benz was fourth with 10.7 per cent (1983: 11.3 per cent), and Karrier was fifth with 9.2 per cent (1983: 10 per cent).

Biggest sales leaps were made by Iveco (181 to 250 vehicles, 4.9 per cent to 6.1 per cent), Scania (129 to 266 vehicles, or 3.5 to 6.5 per cent), and MAN-VW (58 to 100 vehicles, or 1.6 to 2.4 per cent). Total imports in the over3.5 sector rose from 33.3 per cent in January 1983 to 39.3 per cent last month.
