Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MR PHILLIPS (Dear Sir, January 14l, has very aptly shown up the fallacy that extra security is to be had from high intensity tail lamps when in a traffic queue. It is virtually impossible to "read" the road ahead when one is blinded by the glare from the tail lights of the vehicle in front.

Originally, I understand that high density lights were for use only in fog or similar conditions but I have noticed lately that many vehicles seem to have them wired permanently into the dip circuit. Surely this is illegal? D. ROBERTSON Kinlochleven Scotland
