IF BUSES in the north are even more reliable in future, passengers will be indebted indirectly to the European Communities Commission. Northern General, United Automobile Services and Yorkshire Traction are to share £192,900 in grants from the European Regional Development Fund for improved maintenance and engineering facilities.
The amount represents up to half the cost of assistance from the British Government but is not to be paid to the companies in addition to Government aid.
