FEARS that the National Bus Company and Scottish Bus Group are looking for ways of ending their closed shop agreements with the Transport and General Workers Union have led the National Committee of the passenger services group of the Union to hold a consultative conference.
The Committee identified five major issues which it feels will cause it future problems.
These include securing a "decent pay settlement for bus workers", opposing any form of privatisation of any sector of the industry, resistance to the London Regional Transport Bill, opposition to the abolition of the metropolitan counties, and defence of its closed shop agreements.
