COCA-COLA Southern Bottlers at Sunbury-on-Thames, an enthusiastic advocate of the spine-back delivery vehicle chassis, now has a fleet of 18 Urbanloaders built by Southfields Coachworks Ltd.
Based on 16-ton Dodge Corn mando chassis, converted to a single-spine by York Truck Equipment Ltd, the Urbanloaders give a payload of 9.75 tons.
Coca-Cola reports that it has been able to introduce singlemanning and, where dual manning is retained, deliveries are quicker.
