Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A COMPUTER bank service for the analysis of goods vehicle operating and maintenance costs may be set up by the Freight Transport Association.

The idea is to provide FTA members with rapid information on costs as an aid to better management control.

Regular output information would cover such items as cost per vehicle for both operating and maintenance, details of those vehicles costing above average to run, and control on annual testing and the issue of prohibition notices.

Special analysis output would include information on optimum vehicle life, the benefits of particular makes and types of vehicles and the comparative costs.

The feasibility of such a service is being studied by a six man working party from the Association's technical committee. A questionnaire has been sent to 200 members companies in a bid to gauge reaction to the plan.
