I must congratulate "The Hawk" of 'Bird's-Eye View' for his remarks in CM, December 3, 1976.
Britain is still the most civilized country in the world.
It is time for the rest of the British people to shout loudly indeed, and give the boot to the gloom and doom brigade who denigrate things British. And a considerable section of the British Press indulges in this practice, under the guise of reality.
If the stay-at-home knockers of Britain did emigrate, they would be doing the country a favour; and perhaps they would then learn to appreciate the place.
The only way to deal with the 'knock Britain brigade', as well as patronising sympathisers, is to challenge them loud and clear. They do an immense amount of damage in Britain. And remember, they are often quoted abroad.
