• At the annual general meeting of the Association of Industrial Road Safety Officers held in London last week, Mr R. Gahan of Watney Mann Ltd was re-elected president and Mr A. E. Teer of Cadbury-Schweppes Ltd was re-elected secretary. The Association's council for 1971 is D. Bolton, Harold Wood and Sons Ltd; R. Hackett, East Midlands Gas Board; Kenning, Kenning Motor Group Ltd; D. Millburn, South West London Group Training Association; M. Newman, Wax Services Ltd; I. Sherriff, Commercial Motor; H. Shillabeer, BLMC.
Airso is to invite a representative from the Central Training Council and the own-account industrial training boards to attend its meeting in March 1971. This decision followed a discussion in which members expressed the view that those in scope of the RTITB training schemes were not being properly catered for. The Association is to consider in depth practical ways of eliminating motorway fog accidents.
Licences refund
• Refunds for large vehicles on unexpired carriers' licences still remaining in force on December 1 1970 will be made automatically by Traffic Area offices. There will be no need for licence holders to submit refund application forms.
