Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANEW 7-ton normal-control goods chassis has been introduced in Sweden by A.B. Scania-Vabis, SOdertalje. Known as the L55, it supersedes the L51 series of 6-tonners, and is intended to be complementary to the L75 range, an example of which has been road tested by The Commercial Motor (September 25, 1959). The L55 has a new 7.17litre oil engine and the specification includes the option of a Scania-Vabisbuilt two-speed axle. The gross weight rating of the new chassis is 12 tons, and the rear-axle loading limitation is 8 tons. The approximate chassis-and-cab weight is 4* tons, ready for the road. There_ is a choice of five wheelbases: 12 ft. 6 in., 13 ft. 9 in., 15 ft. 1 in., 16 ft. 5 in., and. 17 ft. 8 in. An output of 120 b.h.p. at 2,400 r.p.m. is quoted for the new oil engine, and torque output is 411 lb.-ft. at 1,200 r.p.m. The engine has "square" bore and stroke dimensions of 115 mm. A 15-in, diameter clutch is used, and the geatbox has five forward speeds, with synchromesh engagement of the upper four ratios and direct-drive top gear. The standard rear axle is a .spiral-bevel unit with ratios of 5.13, 5.71 or 6.14 to 1, but there is the option of the new twospeed axle, the ratios of which are 5.71 and 7.87 to I. This axle has an airoperated shift mechanism—an unusual feature on a two-speed axle. Air brakes are standard, giving a total frictional area of 563 sq. in., and power assistance for the Z.F.-Gemmer cam-and-triple-roller steering is listed as optional equipment. Standard tyres are 9.00-20 in., carried on 7.00-20-in, wheels, with the option of 10.00-20-in. equipment. Semi-elliptic springs are fitted to both axles, and the chassis frame is of riveted construction. A six-wheeled version, known as the LS55 is also to be produced. Its payload rating is 10 tons.
