A NEW round of wage claims for busmen has officially begun. London Transport last Friday received a demand for an increase of £1 a week for drivers, conductors and maintenance men. A separate claim was submitted in respect of workers engaged on varying shifts. An application for an increase in pay for municipal bus workers was due to be submitted yesterday to the National Joint Industrial Council for the road passenger transport industry, The National Council for the Omnibus industry are to receive on December 22 a claim on behalf of company bus employees.
