Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANEW semi-solid tyre of original design is now being marketed in this country by Industrial Rubber Products, Ltd., 191-192, Tottenham Court Road, London,W.1. The present series of tyres is primarily intended for use on Ford vehicles, special sizes being made for the front and rear wheels of 7-cwt. vane and one-to-niers.

It will be seen from the illustration that in the Trublpruf tyre, as it is called, there are a number of holes, equally spaced, passing right through the section. nice construction gives good flexibility, with very little or the internal rubbing which can be so destructive. In addition, the.movement or the tyre tends to send air through the holes, thereby producing an internal cooling effect which prolongs its life. A broad tread is obtained without using a very wide base, and the Trublpruf weighs very little more than a pneumatic. It is fitted to a rim which can he attached by the existing studs on demountable-rim Ford wheels, and a press-on type can, be obtained for rear wheels arranged for solid. tyres.

The size for trout wheels is 30 ins. by 34 ince, and 32 ins', by 4 ins. for rear wheels. The width of the base and the size of the holes are varied in different types according to the loads to be dealt with. It is stated that the riding of e Ford van on Trublprufs is just as good as on pneumatics, and thatethese semi-solids can be safely used up to speeds of 35 en,p.b. The tyres am o guaranteed for 10,000 miles at present, but in numbers of cases a mileage of 30,000 has ,beers ex. ceeded under ordinary running conditioe. They have been adopted by the U.S. Government for mail vans, and: ere becoming widely used by private concerns both in the States and in this country. The prices, complete with rim, are : Front wheel tyres, 26 each; rear wheel tyres, 210 each.
