Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Kassbohrer

• Mercedes-Benz is to acquire the bus division of Ulm-based Karl Kassbohrer GmbH for an undisclosed sum. The deal will be ratified this month, with a planned takeover date of 1 January 1995.

Meanwhile Kassbohrer will have to complete its restructuring programme. This involves hiving off the production of skirun levellers and tanks and silos, and its factory in Denmark.

Mercedes-Benz says it aims to build up a major force in the European bus industry. Kassbohrer currently has plants at Ulm, Neu-Ulm, and Ligny in France.

Mercedes aims to integrate their activities with those of its Mannheim bus-building operation, and the new operation will work closely with MercedesBenz Turk in Turkey. Kassbohrer's Setra trademark will continue in use.

Mannheim turned out 3,200 complete buses and 560 chassis in 1993 compared with Kassbohrer's total of 2,300 complete buses.
