trailer on the 0-licence of Harry Wragg Transport of Little Hereford near Ludlow, has been rejected by the West Midland Deputy Licensing Authority.

The company currently holds a licence for eight vehicles anc trailers. Its previous bid to increase that authorisation was refused last July, by West Midland Licensing Authority John Mervyn Pugh, who concluded that the operation was as big as it ever should be from its present operating centre. (CM 30 July-5 August, 1987.) Hereford & Worcester County Council and Leominster District Council objected on the grounds that the surrounding roads were unsuitable for heavy vehicles. Use of the site was unauthorised in planning terms and, though the present usage was tolerated, any intensification would lead to consideration o enforcement action.

It was argued on Wragg's behalf that the application would not lead to any increase in usage of the roads near the operating centre because of the nature of the company's operations.
