• Three bosses at trailer manufacturer and specialist bodybuilder CB Cottingham have bought the company out from its owner the Dee Corporation, saving it from possible closure and securing the jobs of the 70-strong staff.
The managers, Allan Jolly (managing director), David Briggs (sales director) and John Smith (works director), are confident about the future of the North Humberside company, which turns over £2.5 million and produces 120 trailers a year.
CB Cottingham, which was founded in 1945, joined the Dee Corporation in 1968 as a manufacturing and service arm for Dee subsidiary Gateway Foodmarket's Hull-based distribution fleet.
During the past 10 years it has added to its core business by building specialised vehicles, including mobile exhibition units, medical units, reefers and police vans.
