take on 30 new franchisees and 300 employees at a computerised sorting depot in Lount, Leicestershire — less than a year after entering the crowded UK parcels market.
The Market Harboroughbased company told its 72 franchisees and other staff that it was planning to go public within two years. It says it it turning over 22.5 million and expects to make £500,000 profit this year.
• Truck and trailer hire, servicing and property group CSL has announced pre-tax profits up by 53% to £725,000 for the half year to the end of June. Turnover was £3.99 million.
It opened its sixth outlet in Hull last week and plans a further one in Kent later this year. It has also opened a commercial vehicle services division, trading as Connect Europe, on the Normanton Industrial Estate near Leeds.
Trailer hire remains its core business. It runs a fleet of 1,800 together with 150 tractive units. It is currently "testing the market" for increasing its rigid truck business.
