Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

, DEVELOPMENT of the HULO rackliner recently announced allows the /inch manufacturer's well-known design f a self-steering tandem axle bogie to be pplied to an extensible load carrier. The rst example completed is a semi-trailer Pith a length of 12.2m (40ft) in its normal losed configuration with the facility to xtend the overall length in three increments f 2.3m (7ft 6-;-in.) to a maximum of 19.1m 52ft 7-in.).

The variable distance between tractive nit and semi-trailer bogie has necessitated modified arrangement of the steering nkage. Instead of the stabilizer bar being onnected to a towing eye at the rear of the ractive unit a coupling with the fifth-wheel ; used to transmit the turning impulses by elescopic rodding to a turntable mounted mder the rearmost section of the platform lody. The conventional HULO stabilizer lrawbar picks up from an extension arm on his turntable to control the tracking novement of the bogie.

The new HULO extensible semi-trailer is itted with electro-pneumatic frame locks so hat the extending or contracting manoeuvre an be effected without the driver leaving he cab. A timber deck is fitted to the front sod rear platforms which have a loading teight of 1.7m (5ft 6iin.) and the unladen weight of the new unit is 9000kg.
