Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

By Sam Buckley

AS forecast in CM on June 16, the National Joint Council on Materials Handling has issued a study group report on containerization. Two other reports deal with bulk and in-process handling.

Elaborating on a reprint of the CM forecast circulated at a Press conference on Wednesday, Mr. W. A. Galbraith, chairman of the study group, said that the report supplemented the excellent British Transport Docks Board document. It should be of particular interest to inland users of containers without whose cooperation the value of containerization in the international field would be diminished or lost.

Mr. Galbraith claimed that in a year's time 60/70,000 containers would be handled weekly in the UK. But the desirable objective of pooling containers was a complex and international problem outside the scope of their report.
