A NEW vehicle ferry service between Ardrossan and Belfast starts in December. Crossing time will be 4f-hours—considerably less than the Glasgow-Belfast schedule. The 4,100ton Lion, launched on August 8, will sail at 10am daily from Ardrossan and at 4.30pm from Belfast.
There will be space for about 40 commercial vehicles, with headroom of 14 ft. 6 in. Loads lifted at the quayside will be put on slave trailers.
