Mr. LA. M. Ginger has been appointed chief electrical engineer, London Transport, as from September 4 next, to succeed Mr. T. S. Pick, who is retiring after 38 years' service. Mr. R. Hadekel has been appointed chief engineer of Trico-Folberth, Ltd., the screen wiper and washer manufac turers. turers. M Hadekel was formerly an engineering consultant with the Sperry Gyroscope Co., Ltd. Mr. M. J. Baker has been appointed sales manager. The Power Petroleum Co., Ltd., at their London head office, where he has been group manager since 1953. Mr. Baker is particularly well known for his regular attendances, over many years, at Municipal Transport and Road Haulage Conferences.
Mr. E. W. B. Owen, Mr. E. M. de Windt and Mr. R. K. Nelson have joined the Board of Eaton Axles. Ltd. Mr. Owen is joint managing director of Rubery, Owen and Co., Ltd.. Mr. deu Windt is vice-president of Eaton Manufacturing Co. and Mr. Nelson was formerly assistant chief engineer of Eaton Manufacturing Co. The Skefco Ball Bearing Co., Ltd., announce that Mr. E. Y. Mr. G. McKay, the Tilling Group chief engineer, has been appointed a director of Cumberland Motor Services, Ltd., and Eastern Counties Omnibus Co., Ltd., in place of Mr. M. A. Holmes who is resigning from the boards of these two companies. Mr. McKay has also been appointed an additional director of Bristol Commercial Vehicles, Ltd., and Eastern Coach Works, Ltd.

Mr. D. A. Larkins has been appointed chief accountant of Lancing Bagnall, Ltd. Mr. G. F. Laurence, director of technical services at Metalastik, Ltd., has been appointed a deputy managing director of the company. Mr. T, F. McNeill, formerly secretary and general manager of Macclesfield Transport, Ltd., has been appointed managing director of Frank C. Jackson, Ltd., the Bollingion (Cheshire) haulage company. Mr. F. C. Jackson will continue as chairman.
Mr. John 0. Bridgman has been appointed sales engineer, Unimog department, in the commercial division of Mercedes-Benz (Great Britain), Ltd. He will be responsible for marketing the all-purpose mobile Unimog range of
power units throughout the United Kingdom. Mr. Bridgman, who is 32, was formerly with the heavy sales division of John Allen and Sons, Ltd., of Oxford.

Obituary
We record with deep regret the death, following a road accident on July 26, of Mr. G. H. Jackson, chairman of the Chaseside Motor Co., Ltd., main Ford dealers, of Enfield, Middlesex. Mr. Jackson's long and distinguished career in the motor industry started in the early '20s when he bought a 1-ton model T Ford and started a parcels service to London. About 1932 he developed the first mechanical shovel, mounted on a Fordson tractor, to be seen in this country, and in 1936 the Chaseside Engineering Company was formed.
