II The Freight Transport Association is talking to Scania about design changes following a series of gas attacks against drivers abroad.
Geoff Day, the ETA's head of engineering policy, is liaising with Scan* about possible changes to door locks and access to night heater air intakes as a way of enhancing driver safety Several companies have contacted the FA recently reporting gas attacks in northern Spain, France and Belgium. The attacks took place while vehicles were parked and drivers were taking their daily rest.
Comments on vehicle design which might help combat these attacks can be sent to Don Armour at the FTA.
