Hidden at the Criminal Appeal Court in London he said: "We grant their renewed applications for leave to appeal against conviction. We refer to the full court their renewed applications for leave to appeal against sentence but order the disqualifications be suspended from this date."
Hidden said the grounds of appeal were alleged material misdirections by the trial judge.
A rear nearside wheel came off a tipper owned and operated by Roberts and driven by George on the M53 on 16 December 1993.
It bounced across the road into the opposite carriageway where it hit a car driven by Chevalier who was killed instantly. The prosecution case was that the wheel would not have come loose if proper checks had been carried out.
The defence denied this and called evidence of inherent defects in the wheel.
