• Transport and financial services group British and Commonwealth Holdings (formerly British and Commonwealth Shipping) is to spin off its commercial and service activities into a separate company. Current joint managing director of B&C, Julian Lee, will become chief executive of the new company and outside investors are now being sought to take up 20% of the equity capital.
One of B&C's principal operating subsidiaries, parcels group ANC Holdings, was bought by the group earlier in the year (CM 31 January), but marketing director David Boon says that he does not
expect the company to be seriously affected by the changes.
