We're not going on an NIC holiday

Due to an increase in business we decided to employ another HGV driving instructor through a job centre. We were told that, if we took someone from the long-term unemployment register, we would be given a 12month national insurance contributions holiday.

We employed the new instructor in May and are still waiting to be issued with our holiday certificate so that we can reclaim our contributions.

We did receive a letter from the Contributions Agency explaining its computer was being updated and it was therefore unable to issue us with the relevant certificates.

Once again another promise from the government which it cannot honour. Edward Pargeter, EP Training Services, Leather/wad, Surrey.
