• Thirty-five demountable bodies, with special provision in the bulkhead construction for the fitting of refrigeration units if required, have been built by bodyrnakers Besco for catemg distributor Fitch and Son.
The bodies, all made during the past year to the company's Beskimo design, were adapted to meet possible future European Community legislation covering delivery of chilled foods.
The 4.5m bodies are constructed using grp/ply sandwich panels with a 75rnm polyurethane core on an aluminium frame. An insulated wide slat rear shutter is fitted in a stainless steel rear frame.
Fitch and Son uses a fleet of 110 vehicles, mostly Renault Commando G08 7.5 tonners, to deliver groceries to hotels and pubs from its depots in London, Downton, Brovvnhills, and Northampton. The fleet consists of demounts and rigids.
