Managing Director Applied Water Energy Ltd 62 Saltoun Street, Glasgow

• Mr Feeney misquotes our headline, which was not a statement but a question: "Just a lot of hot air?" Our secondary heading said "Fuel-saving gadgets so often flatter to deceive . . ." and David Wilcox went on to talk of such apparatus in general, not mentioning Gefarator until the second column and was surely right in approaching this matter with caution. He stated: "Laboratory tests have not been carried out using a dieselengined commercial vehicle." If it is any consolation to Mr Feeney, our summary did sufficiently impress a couple of readers to the extent that they asked for his firm's phone number, which they said was unobtainable from directory enquiries (it's 041-339 6848). — Editor.
