EXCELSIOR Holidays of Bournemouth has caused more turmoil in the crowded British coach market by ordering 20 Plaxtonbodied coaches on Telford-built Quest 80 VM chassis.
The VM is a high floor rear-engined coach chassis with full air suspension. The chassis features Ford mechanical units and is to be powered by a Ford 2728T engine modified by Sabre Marine and Quest 80 as a charge-cooled turbocharged unit developing 220bhp at 2,50Orpm.
Nineteen of the coaches are to be 12m vehicles and the remaining one 11m in length.
