David Bampton, 38, has been appointed technical legislation manager by the Perkins Engines Group and will be responsible for the "legal engineering" of the company's products, reporting directly to the chairman and managing director, Monty Prichard. Said Mr Prichard; "One of the most important aspects of the job is to ensure that Perkins engines worldwide meet all legal requirements, as well as ensuring that forthcoming new legislation is anticipated and taken account of. This function is a further extension of Perkins' engineering services for its manufacturing customers and, in meeting operator requirements, it emphasizes the growing advantages of power unit standardization in world markets.' Donald W. Prentice has been appointed Thorn ley and Knight Ltd transport finishes representative in the City of Birmingham and Warwickshire. Mr Prentice became sales manager for the Birmingham and West Midland area with the formation of the Blundell Permoglaze group in 1962.

Brian Fair, 35, has joined Hills (Patents) Ltd, of Staines, as representative for North-East England.

Neal Nunnelly has a new post with Seatrain Lines, that of vicepresident and general manager for European marketing operations and responsible for day-to-day administration in Europe. Mr Nunnelly will continue to be based at European hq in Rotterdam.
