Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Blaydon

• Mrs E. S. Allison, of Blaydon, the holder of an operator's licence authorizing two vehicles was refused her application to increase the vehicle strength on the licence by two vehicles when she applied to the Northern LA, Mr J. A. T. Hanlon, in Newcastle last week. Mr Hanlon was also considering if action was necessary under Section 69.

The LA heard that the vehicles operated by Mrs Allison, which were used to transport sand and gravel, had been inspected by a DoE vehicle examiner on June 8 and one prohibition imposed. Several other prohibitions had also been issued in the past.

After hearing evidence which indicated that steps had been taken to improve vehicle maintenance, the LA said he would not take any action under Section 69 but would refuse the application and consider no further application for at least two months.
