F OLLOWING the -withdrawal of th " last objection, the West Midlan Licensing Authority has completed h; hearing of Dudley Corporation's appli cation to bring into operation regula tions designed to relieve congestion i the town.

Under the corporation's proposalt all picking-up and setting-down point for passengers on excursions and tour to, from and through Dudley would b transferred to a new station at th junction of the Tipton and Birminghan roads.

At earlier hearings, agreement hat been reached between the corporatim and three objectors whose picking-ui points were on or near the railwa! bridge on the town side of the Binning ham—Tipton road junction.

In the Canadian city, he said, the Metropolitan Transport Commission controlled trams, motorbuses, trolleybuses, the underground railway and a fleet of long-distance express coaches. I-1e suggested that a similar type of organization should be set up in Glasgow. Membership would comprise three civic officers and two businessmen with experience in transport.

BIG NEW REPAIR DEPOT

1-1, A BIG vehicle repair depot is being built at Leeds for the National Benzole Co., Ltd.. and will be ready

next summer. The four-acre site is near York Road. It will be the fourth depot built by the company in recent years, the other being at Willesden, Sheffield and Manchester.
