SCANIA HAS won two categories in the inaugural Commercial Motor Used Truck of the Year Awards — best construction chassis for the P-series and best tractor for its R-series.
John Egerton, UK rental director for Hireco (pictured left) who sponsored the competition, and CM editor Will Shiers (right) presented the awards to Martin Hay, Scania UK truck sales director (centre). Other winners, which were announced at Commercial Motor Live, were the Volkswagen Transporter (up to 3 tonnes),
Ford Transit (3.5 tonnes), Daf LF (7.5 tonnes) and Mercedes-Benz Axor (18 tonnes). The awards are a celebration of the UK's best second-hand CVs. The winners were chosen by a panel of industry experts and CM readers, who voted online.
