VEHICLE CCTV supplier Vue has introduced a risk management and training service designed to help truck operators make the best use of the images captured by the video data recorders (VDR) that are becoming increasingly popular on vehicles.
Vue describes the new service, called reVue, as evidence-based driver intervention training. It is designed to maximise the training benefits that can be derived from analysis of the on-board camera footage. A driver awareness module entails a Vue driver-trainer reviewing footage captured by the vehicle cameras, giving analysis and
advice to the drivers involved. This half-day course, which costs E750, caters for up to 10 drivers at once.
A driver debrief course is aimed at transport managers, training them to how to give driver feedback after reviewing CCTV footage; the aim is to ensure the outcome is a positive experience for bath driver and operator. A third, more advanced course, is for company driver-trainers, helping them make best use of CCTV footage in their driver development work. Vue says it will provide training to users of other makes of VDR, not just its own.
