IN The Railfreight Users Group will host a conference entitled Intermodai Freight Systems on 6 November at The Hendon Hall, London NW4.
Topics will include swap body and hi-modal systems, new wagon technology and freight terminal and village developments.
In conjunction with the conference, Charterail will stage an exhibition of intermodal equipment at its north London terminal in Cricidewood, NW2.
Tickets to both events will cost £58.75 for RUG members and £117.50 for non-members.

Logistics day
• The Institute of Purchasing and Supply will hold a Logistics Workshop on 21 November at the Royal Angus Thistle Hotel, Birmingham.
It will cover the assessment of logistics supply chains, long-term customer needs, reducing lead times and optimising productivity.

Final round
• Truck racing enthusiasts can see the final rounds of the Truckspeed series this weekend at Lydden.
Competitors at the circuit near Canterbury will include Chris Tucker from Upminster in his Ford Louisville, Rob Williams from Chingford (ERF) and local driver Nigel Fry (Foden).
Racing starts at 13:00hrs on the Saturday with practice from 11:00hrs, and on the Sunday racing begins at 13:15hrs with practice from 12:30hrs.
Admission costs £5; entry for children and parking will be free.
