Keith Barret, West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive's director of labour relations and business development, is relinquishing his post and has accepted an appointment as a director of Glaxo, the international pharmaceutical company. Paul Merryweather has become the company secretary of Eastern Counties Omnibus Co Ltd, taking over from Mr Foxlee who is retiring. Mr Merryweather previously held the position of company secretary with Birmingham-based Midland Red, having joined that company in 1978.

Mr Slack was previously involved with engineering planning and services. Eric Melling has been made plant manager at Seddon Atkinson's Oldham headquarters.
