;HORT HAULS, Dunlop has added the SP811 to its range; this liments the SP311 launched 18 months ago for the long-haul rt.
SP811, designed to be to vehicles operating on hauls, is an all steel radial avy truck tyre which, says p, should overcome the rear problems normally ased with short runs.
ording to Dunlop, the tread tyre has been designed so the increased overall irtions of the shoulc'ier ribs use lateral distortion from aring and road camber improves resistance to der wear.
tread's highly angled ,E) sides stabilise the tread Ind tread to ground movewhen the tyre is transmitornering, driving and brakToes.
'flop claims that the tyre ; increased mileage potena short-haul operation.
a of the benefits of the 1, Dunlop says, is that it ; the short-haul operator ossibility of all axle fitment -nplicity of operation.
nlop says that the tread has built so that the wide, well red tread grooves provide tance to stone trapping a improved tread compound gases the levels of resistance itting and chipping.
e tyre breaker package im)orates a slave breaker, ch can be removed if aged when the worn casing bmitted for retreading. The SP811, like all other Dunlop heavy truck radial tyres, is produced on optimum ply casings which have been designed so that the moulded shape matches the inflated shape when on the wheel thereby minimising stress at the breaker edge and shoulders.
The stable tread ribs and the consequent reduction in tread distortion gives the SP811 less rolling resistance, Dunlop claims, giving possible fuel savings of up to two per cent over major competition.
Dunlop has introduced specialist production machinery, and has incorporated the most modern X-ray, uniformity and quality control techniques.
